The Pain That You’ve Been Feeling Can’t Compare to the Joy That’s Coming.

It’s Tuesday, the second day of classes of my senior year, and this is the first day in about 2 weeks I have been able to sit down for more than ten minutes. My motor has been going non-stop for a week and a half and it is just about to crash and burn. I have been on an emotional roller-coaster that I just can’t seem to get off of. Today is my first day off from soccer and my body sure is grateful. I am learning to not let these things, these emotions, ruin my time here. Yes it is draining, yes I am tired but I am still alive, still blessed with this life and the people I love the most and hold dearest to me are here. Every day I am waking up with a new mindset, not letting the thoughts of yesterday or uncertainty of tomorrow control today. I am taking everything in as it comes and finding light in every situation.

Something that I have realized over the past few weeks is that everyone is fighting their own battles, no matter how big or small they may be. You really never know what someone is dealing with. A lot of s**t is happening every day in our world, but it is hardships and struggles like these that should open our eyes and help us be thankful for what we have. Tough times only make us stronger.

If you take anything away from this post, it is the importance of generosity, consideration, and selflessness. In simpler words, BE NICE. Kind words, kind actions, they go a long way. Those acts of compassion no matter how small, could mean more than you think to someone fighting a battle you know nothing about. Kindness is becoming so rare and positivity and optimism, is almost non-existent.

Rid yourself of the toxins that this world has poisoned you with. Remove things from your life that are bringing you down, wearing you out and shine bright, if not only for you, for the others around you. Have eyes that always look for the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst and a mind that forgets the bad. Spread love everywhere you go.
