Salmon Burgers (Low-Fodmap/Gluten-Free)

Ah the infamous salmon burger. What I like about salmon burgers (or any burger for that matter) is that they are so versitile. You can pretty much do whatever you want with them. I’ve never been a fan of ground meat so burgers aren’t really my thing…BUT these salmon burgers are a whole different story. I served these bad boys on Udi’s Gluten Free Hamburger Buns with homeade avocado spread. 

Here’s the recipe: 

Salmon Burger (makes 5 patties)

  • 1.5 lbs fillet of Salmon
  • 1 C. Cooked Quinoa 
  • 1 C. Chopped Kale 
  • 1/3 C. Green Spring Onion (tops only)
  • 1 Egg 
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay 
  • 1/4 tsp Dill, Rosemary, Sea Salt, Black Ground Pepper 

Avocado Spread 

Combine following ingredients:

  • 4 Avocados 
  • 3 TBSP Lemon Juice
  • 1 TBSP Lime Juice 
  • Salt and Pepper to taste 


  • Cook quinoa as directed on package
  • Chop and measure 1 C. Kale and microwave for 30 seconds 
  •  Mix quinoa, kale, spring onion, egg and seasonings
  • Finely chop fillet of salmon and add to mixture
  • Form into 5 patties 
  • Grill on medium for approximately 5 minutes  each side
